From Sugar Cane to Oak Barrels

Captain Morgan and Zacapa are our international brands in Rum category within Diageo that we distribute in our country.

Rum is made from grape juice derived by mixing sugar cane juice, molasses and vinasse obtained by its distillation with water. Juice derived is distilled after it is fermented at variable periods from 48 hours to 5 days. It can be consumed after it is aged in oak barrels and filtered; Rom is mostly made in the regions where sugar cane is grown. It is known that Rom, a spirit with high-alcohol content, originates from the Central America, Latin America and the Caribbean Islands.
