Deniz Yuce Basarir, an experienced name in the publishing world, intends to better introduce our productive and important authors, who bring the voice of the 21st century to their pages, through the new podcast series "Elim Kalem de Tutar Kadeh de". While listening to the series, in which Basarir hosts our "80s generation" female authors at her table for a sweet literary conversation, the sounds of laughter, heels and  wineglasses of the women in Türkiye are being heard as well as the sound of their pens.

The language created on social media is blocking our way

In the sixth episode of "Elim Kalem de Tutar Kadeh de", Deniz Yuce Basarir goes on a literary journey from past to present together with Sezen Unluonen, who has rapidly entered into the world of literature with her first novel, Kiymetli Seylerin Tanzimi, and who has secured her position through her second novel, Imtiyaz, or Cici Kizlara Bir Roman. The conversation that deepens as Unluonen, who completed her doctorate in English literature at Harvard University, frequently mentions the authors - by whom she was inspired - during her speech, as in her works, also touches upon new searches in today's literature. Basarir also reads a chapter from the author's first novel, and she invites the audience, who has not yet met the author's works, to meet her.

Sezen Unluonen, who comment "the language that is created on social media - I consider this as one of the negative things that social media has added to our lives - prevents us from approaching the situations with a new perspective or a new word.", continues "In my books, I have a concern and a desire to gather the language from the novels, poems and other places." Unluonen, saying that Jane Austen is a person who she loves and respects, both for the world that she creates in her works and for being a writer who focuses on very serious social and intellectual issues, and she adds "She is truly a beacon of light and a guide for me.".

All my struggle is with myself

The guest of the seventh episode of "Elim Kalem de Tutar Kadeh de" is Sinem Sal, who started her literary journey with poetry and then continued it with her story book, Dank, and her novel, Bizim Zamanimiz. While Sal's sincere statements about herself, which draws attention especially with the cheerful female characters that she has created in Bizim Zamanimiz, leave their mark on the conversation, the importance of women's solidarity is also frequently emphasized. A chapter from the novel of Sinem Sal, who says "If I did not write, I would be more distant from the life.", also meets the audience through the voice of Basarir.

"All my struggle is with myself. It always progresses by criticizing myself. We grow up in a society that, far from supporting the self-confidence, does its best to destroy it. My struggle about that place still continues. It always requires training, and it requires attention every day." says Sal. She tells "As female writers, illustrators and friends started to increase in my life, I really started to move towards where I wanted to go in the literature. On this occasion, I started to read the other things.".
