PSM Workshop Has Started The Third Training Period!

The third training period of PSM Workshop, which was launched free of charge by Zorlu PSM two years ago to ensure sustainability of theater, continues with the corporate support provided by Mey|Diageo. PSM Workshop aims to enrich the theater corpus with original content and to offer the participants the opportunity to become a part of the network of performing arts in Türkiye.

PSM Workshop program, where a total of 19 students aged between 18-30 are accepted after evaluation of hundreds of applications by leading instructors who are all experienced in the relevant fields, consists of three departments: Dramatic Writing, Theater Directing and Theater Production. Participants are going to complete the theoretical and practical training, which takes place every week for 7 months, with a short play they stage.

Launched to enrich the theater corpus with original content and curated by Serdar Bilis, the award winner director of numerous plays including the Musical Alice, Asik Shakespeare and Saatleri Ayarlama Enstitusu, PSM Workshop offers its students the opportunity to learn about the theater industry on-site. The world-class technical infrastructure and extensive ecosystem of Zorlu PSM in the field of theater allow the students to learn and experience the process, from creating a production at the desk to staging it, in detail.

Filiz Ova, the General Manager at PSM, said: ‘’We continue to move towards our goal of shaping a new-generation industrial network by bringing experienced figures together with young talents.’’

We, as Zorlu PSM, attach importance to ensuring sustainability of culture & arts ecosystem. While launching PSM Workshop three years ago, it was our primary aim to contribute to the development of new talents in the field of theater, to enrich the theater corpus with original content and to introduce new talents to the industry. In three years, there had been nearly 800 applications to our PSM Workshop project, and up to now, 49 of our young friends, who participated in the program after the evaluation process, have managed to complete the workshop. We are more than happy to see our young graduates employed not only in our productions, but also in several projects brought into life in our industry. In the 11th season, we, as Zorlu PSM, have initiated the 7-month theoretical-practical training, where our young participants will receive training from Turkish and foreign instructors, who are all competent in the relevant fields, without deviating from our goal of shaping a new-generation industrial network by bringing together experienced figures with young talents. There are a total of 19 students in three different departments, including Dramatic Writing, Theater Directingand Theater Production. At the end of the training, our young participants will become the actors/actresses, directors and producers of the future with the works they create and the experiences they gain. I would like to express my thanks particularly to Mey Diageo, who have provided great support to PSM Workshop in these two years for helping our young participants produce in the field of theater. With the investments they make in the culture &arts industry to help it develop, they do not leave us alone. I would like to express my thanks to all our young friends, who applied to PSM Workshop, and I hope an inspiring and successful academic year. ‘’
