We Will heal in solidarity

We are experiencing an indescribable pain. We are saddened by the earthquake disaster that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 and severely impacted our surrounding cities. We wish God's mercy on those who lost their lives, patience and condolences to their grieving families, and a speedy recovery to our injured citizens.

As Mey|Diageo, our crisis desk team came together from the very first moments of the earthquake. By following the developments moment by moment and proceeding in coordination with public institutions and local administrations, we immediately started our efforts to support earthquake zones.

• As we have experienced in previous disasters, our managers set out for the earthquake zone at the first light of the morning in order to respond to the right need by making on-site detection.
• For the safety and health of our colleagues working in the region and their families, we made a recommendation to reach all of them one by one so that they can move to a safer area. We placed our friends who wanted to change hotels in nearby areas.
  
• We provided support for the financial needs of Mey|Diageo employees and distributor friends working in the cities affected by the earthquake.
  
• We purchased and coordinated the distribution of primary basic needs such as sleeping bags, blankets, thermal underwear, gloves, scarves/hats, tents, generators and water that our citizens affected by the earthquake may need in the region. We also provided food, medicine and hygiene kits.
  
• With the support of volunteer teams of our employees, we prepared hygiene packages and organized their distribution to the relevant regions.
  
• In addition to in-kind support, we have coordinated to meet the needs of the chefs in our ecosystem by adopting the mobile kitchen projects of those who go to earthquake zones.
  
• Diageo Global, which we are under the umbrella of, created a donation page for its 30 thousand employees working in the 180 countries where it operates. He will also transfer cash assistance as well as the amount of employee donations to this fund.

We are aware that we are going through a process that requires long-term solidarity. As Mey|Diageo; With this awareness and our belief in the power of unity, we will continue to support earthquake zones in coordination with public institutions and local administrations.

We will never lose hope. Because we need hope, because we need light, because we need each other so much!
